The Bench Push Up is an upper body pushing exercise that requires no equipment other than yourself and a stable surface. Using part of your body weight means this exercise has possibly a higher level of difficulty compared to the overhead press.
How to perform the Bench Push Up:
1. Stand in front of a bench or other stable surface with your feet shoulder width apart (Note: the lower the surface the harder the exercise will be).
2. Start by place your hands just outside shoulder width apart on the surface and lift your heels off the ground.
3. Brace through your core and keep your back straight. Bend your elbows and lower your chest to the surface.
4. Just before you body reaches the surface press yourself back to the start position, maintaining a straight back.
5. Repeat as prescribed.
