The Australian Government has put means in place to ensure the Australian population can stay fit and healthy during these tough times. Those who need the support most may be able to access Telehealth sessions with an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP), with no out of pocket cost. This is to ensure this population can still exercise safely and effectively whilst keeping their risk of infection as low as possible. Who is eligible? To access a bulk billed telehealth session with an AEP you will need a referral from a GP after having a care plan. If you have already had a care plan done this year, you are able to use any referrals you haven't already used for a Telehealth session. To be eligible to receive a care plan you must have a chronic medical condition, be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Descent or hold a DVA white or gold card. If you're unsure of your eligibility you will need to speak to your GP. In addition to your AEP session, your GP may also be able to offer Telehealth sessions to discuss or complete your care plan.
